What Canada Post will cost you
Postage is public information and we pass it through at cost, so here is the real number before you talk to anyone. What we charge for is the mailing prep and the printing.
Unaddressed. You choose the areas and every address in them gets one.
Not sure which? Tell us the finished size and we confirm it before anything is quoted.
Postage, at cost
$2,000.00
20¢ per piece · 10,000 pieces
- Neighbourhood Mail, standard
- 18.7¢ · $1,870.00
- Transportation
- 1.3¢ · $130.00
This is an estimate. It is not final pricing and is subject to verification of the final order. Piece weight derived from size and stock is an estimate too: the finished piece is weighed before a mailing is deposited, and the postage band is confirmed then.
Canada Post published list rate, effective 2026-03-23. We pass postage through at cost and never mark it up, so this is what you pay Canada Post. What we quote is the mailing prep and the printing. If you hold a Canada Post agreement, your rate may be lower.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you mark up postage?
- No. Canada Post rates are public and we pass them through at cost with no markup. We bill the mailing prep and the printing, nothing else. It is checkable against the rate card in thirty seconds, which is exactly why we publish it.
- What is the difference between Neighbourhood Mail and Personalized Mail?
- Neighbourhood Mail is unaddressed: you choose areas and every address in them gets a copy. Personalized Mail is addressed: you supply the list and each piece carries a name. Neighbourhood Mail is far cheaper per piece; Personalized Mail lets you vary the content and measure response by recipient.
- Why does a small mailing cost as much as a bigger one?
- Personalized Mail carries volume minimums: 100 pieces for the machineable category and 1,000 for Special Handling. Below that you pay the shortfall at a phantom rate, so 60 pieces costs the same postage as 100. The calculator says so as soon as it applies.
- Does weight really change the price?
- Yes, and in steps rather than smoothly. On Neighbourhood Mail, crossing 50 g or 100 g moves the rate up a band. On 10,000 pieces, a single gram over 50 g costs $300. Since we take nothing on postage, the saving from trimming a piece is entirely yours.
- Are these your rates or Canada Post's?
- These are Canada Post's published list rates, effective 2026-03-23, transcribed from their official price sheets. Customers holding a Canada Post agreement may pay less. Rates reset annually.
